Meet the Designer... I began quilting around 1987 after watching Eleanor Burns of Quilt in a Day on PBS. She made it look like so much fun! I've been mainly self-taught but I did (and still do) take occasional classes from some very talented teachers.
In 1995, I bought a Gammill longarm quilting machine after convincing my husband that it's not just an expensive toy but a business venture.
It seemed like each customer quilt that I worked on I began to wonder "what would this design look like if this was like this instead..." I would take a break and run to my computer and draw it out. I worked 11-1/2 years as a Mechanical Design Engineer so drafting out designs come naturally to me (I love Math, too). Soon every time I started a new quilt from a pattern, I would redesign it before it was done.

I designed and made the quilt shown here for the Rock Valley Quilter's Guild annual Challenge. It was one of my first designs that I drafted out and actually made the quilt. (Many are just on paper--for now, anyway.) In 2003, I entered it in our Guild's Quilt Show (my first show entry ever) and it won 2nd place. I guess that encouraged my design abilities and by 2005 I was confident enough to begin publishing. I live in a very small town called Tiffany in the Turtle Township just outside of Beloit in South Central Wisconsin. My husband, Larry, and I have four children. Adam is 19, Laura is 17, and Randy and Katie are 14. Yes, they're twins! (Have any idea yet how I came up with my company name?) When I'm not quilting, I help my husband with his Tree Service, mainly Accounting and answering the phone. I currently work part-time as the Lunch Computer Lady for my kids school; I like getting to know all of their classmates. And of course, the kids keep me very busy - all are active in sports (and quite good, too).
